PDay March 12, 2012

We visited Montauk Point lighthouse again this morning to view the sunrise again. We washed our laundry and now we're here at the Northport library. We've driven a lot this morning! Beautiful scenery en route...a lot of fields and forests farther out on Long Island. Also, saw many famous peoples' houses in the Hamptons.

We participated in that Preach My Gospel competition a week ago! Our District won the honor of representing our zone and we met (the entire mission arrived also to witness) in the chapel in Woodside, Queens . A wild card district was selected at random. It so happened to be Plainview! We competed and scored expoundably well. We were one of the best districts! There are only four of us also! We're the smallest district. Unfortunately, we didn't win. :( It was okay, however. I was one of the best and many missionaries cheered for me...so I feel better!

Our branch has many families from Idaho also and the almost everybody in the branch speaks English. This week has been rather slow for us (the English baptized again this week) and we've taught three lessons (all to less active members) from ALL of last week! I know that things will ameliorate in time but I'm striving to be patient (a Christlike Attribute that I'm trying to improve). At 8:30ish last night (prior to leaving and returning home), we tried to visit a less active man. He wasn't home and we returned to the car....being the end of the week....we both saw a hispanic woman walking on the other side of the street in the dark with her little son. We approached her and shared with her our testimonies and mine of eternal families. She gave us her address. Perhaps she lied, however, we're trying to be assiduous missionaries in every sense. Transfer meeting's approaching again. I'll probably stay while my companion's transferred. Several weeks ago, I mentioned in my weekly letter to President Nelson that I desire to conclude my mission in Bushwick, Brooklyn or return to Ridgewood if the other wasn't feasible. I enjoy Huntington, however, and I'll make my sojourn worth it while I'm serving here.
